Brother Control Center - "scanner not connected"

If you have a Brother MFC unit and are trying to scan using the Control Center software, there are times you might get a message "DEVICE NAME cannot be found.  Make sure the device is ON and connected."  This can sometimes be followed by error: CC3-202-03031b02.

If you confirmed that the unit can print and that it scans with another application, try to delete all of the user temporary files.  It seems a strange fix but this has been proven to work in the past for our technicians here at CompuSave.
